The good, the bad, and the after

So... The race was done. First off, my official time that I just got was 4:42:50... very nice.
I needed to walk. Diane was the first person I saw since she could just scoot around people without a stroller and baby. Her and I walked until everyone else caught up with us. My legs were tight, my lower back hurt, and I was ready to try to find something that was no sweet. I had enough gels and shotblocks for a week.
I managed to find a diet coke and a beer and 2 things of cookies but I saved those for later. I downed about half of each drink. (yes I know that sounds absolutely awful of a combination) Anyways... I walked around the inside of the tent with Alex and Diane but we ended up loosing Diane somewhere in the mix. Alex and I had a recap of everything. She told me I did great which was so nice to hear. (who doesn't like a compliment!?) We then walked around outside. I saw a pizza truck but no pizza insight. There were a lot of massage tables and medical (they were doing some nasty things there and made me want to gag) Think suction cup on leg, steroid shots or something to that look, taping up people's legs, etc , etc. Needless to say, we all got together outside and chatted about the race and then I decided it was WAY too cold (only 60ish) to stay outside and needed a shower asap. So we walked to the car. I was told it was a long way away. It didn't seem that far away. I enjoyed walking and talking even though Ron offered to push me in the stroller. HA!! I think I would break that. Plus apparently I smelled like death according to Val and Diane. I swear I wore deo! We got back to the hotel and low and behold, I asked for late checkout and they were already cleaning the room. This did not stop me from going straight in there to get a shower. After cleaning up, we went and met Alex, Ron, and Rosalie at PT's Grill. CHEESEBURGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disclaimer.... I LOVE cheeseburgers but after racing for that amount of mileage, my stomach doesn't know what to do. I was not hungry but I was. Regardless, the cheeseburger was amazing!
We chatted for a good while and Rosalie was fighting a nap a good portion of the time. Alex rotated Rosalie around to Val, Diane, and myself. We all had a great time with her. Val was very smitten. (who wouldn't be?) 2pm came a bit too fast but we had to get back home. I was getting tired and knew we had a 4 hour drive back home.
We all said our goodbyes and I took the backseat with Diane's pillow and rested my eyes and the rest of my body for the ride home. While in the car, I managed to force a banana, pineapple, grapefruit, and some peanut mms in my mouth in between resting my eyes.
We all had a great short weekend. We all wish it could have lasted longer and now MUST take a summer trip at some point!
When I got home Daniel's mom and grandma were here to visit. We all ended up going out to Ham's for dinner. Once again, not that hungry but the food was soooo good. Salmon and double broccoli. mmmmm.
After I got home, I unpacked and then dropped like a fly on the couch while watching tv. I didn't mean to, but my body was ready to quit for the day.
