This past week has had it's highs and lows.... here are a few of them.. some funny, some.. well not so much.
Ran over my second animal in the road ever... Sorry animal. (made me cry... seriously I did cry!)
My fav popcorn has been recalled. I zoomed over to the store because today was the last day it was on sale and when I brought it to the register it said recalled. Go figure.
Emotionally, I have had highs and lows this week.
Went to a dinner party on Thursday night and finally played Nintendo Wii... Yes first time EVER. Thank you... I do realize this came out like 5+ years ago. I did end up smoking everyone in all the games except sword fighting. Bowling, canoeing, and table tennis were awesome! I attribute my skills to participating in these sports as a child. Thanks Mom and Dad. :)
The weather has been pretty much amazing. I have been taking walks outside in the nice weather.
I had no traveling this past week and 8 Piece keeps telling me that I am not leaving town by laying all over my suitcase which is in the downstairs bath. (sorry buddy... I will be taking another trip soon)
I picked up my newest book from the library called Wheat Belly. I am just starting it so I am unsure how fast or slow of a read it will be.
I ended up making some awesome bbq in the crockpot last night with homemade sauce. (Daniel did help with the spices)
I also made some homemade tomato sauce with spaghetti squash earlier in the week. Fantastic!

In love...
Currently I am so in love with the following....
I just love this time of the year for pumpkin spice lattes and I'm a bit obsessed with coconut anything right now. This coconut cream is soo thick and dreamy. I put it in my coffee, freeze it with a little protein powder for a ice cream type texture, mix it with coconut flour and coconut flakes, the list goes on an on. And the good news.... we are getting a Trader Joes at the end of October so I won't have to make special trips to get this stuff. Its BPA free and sooo yummy!
Its the little things sometimes :)

Trip recap
To say that I was SO excited to see Alex was an understatement. I might as well have had a countdown calender posted on the wall at home because every day was a countdown. On Tuesday evening, I left work and drove to Daniel's Grandma's place. On the way, I picked up Chickfila for dinner for us and got in at about 745. I made great time. We had dinner together but I had to get up so early so I called it a night before 10pm.
Wednesday at 315 came wayyyy too fast. Sleep was lacking and therefore I made some foolish mistakes.
1. I drove to the wrong park and ride
2. I told the park and ride people I was flying out of Delta.... not the case... o well.
So after grabbing coffee after security (which by the way I was the only one there but they had 5 people working there).
I found my seat to wait for the flight to come in. I got on the flight just fine and off to CLT I went. I ended up not sleeping that leg of the trip because I had chatty Kathy next to me. After getting off at CLT, I walked to the other departure location and boarded there for PHX. This trip, I slept the WHOLE way there. I was not even awake when they were serving drinks and nuts. I did wake up at about halfway through, found my larabar, ate half and slept the rest of the way. I tell you, travel pillows are the BEST!
I got off that plane as fast as I could after landing, put in a call to Alex and by the time I got down to baggage claim, she was there to get me. I was so excited to see her and Rosalie. We put my bags in the car and just started chatting away. Rosalie gave me the stink eye but I knew I had that coming.
Alex showed me around her place, and around the area.
During the trip we did the following things.... couponed, pool time, grocery store, food joints including a mexican place which was awesome and a sub place, more pool time, and scenic views.
We also had an abundance of ice cream. :)
By day one, I was going to take a nap after watching Rosalie but ended up sleeping straight through dinner and everything. I fell asleep with my contacts in, no face washed, my day clothes on, no teeth brushed. I was a hot mess the next morning. I woke up at 1 something and felt so bad that I had slept through dinner and everything. Alex said that I looked like I needed the sleep.
Thursday was filled with waking up early to go hike a mountain. Yes we are crazy like that and hike mountains in 90+ degree heat. Alex had Rosalie on her back. I carried all the essentials. Sunscreen, camera, keys, money, etc. After climbing, we walked around ASU and grabbed ice cream. That evening, I had Rosalie again while Alex went to work for just a bit. We ate in for dinner and I got some really cute video and pics of Rosalie before she got tired. We all went to bed early that night and Alex slept in the next day. I got up super early on Friday (5am their time) and checked emails and then at around 6 Rosalie and Ron were up I got some coffee and we all hung out. Rosalie decided that she wanted to try my banana and was such a big girl that she ate half of it. She gave me the stink eye when I went to get a bite of it while she was eating it. Her and I hung out after Ron went to work.
When Alex got up, we got settled and went to the pool, had some really good girl time, and some tears. Friday was filled with tears. Its hard to be away from your best friend! We made one last trip to the store before my flight on Friday and I got a cantalope to take home. (19c a lb. Yes please!)
I of course got stopped at security when I was going through, they checked my bag and everything.
Anyways... at the airport, I bawled my eyes out.. both of us did. Im sure all the people in the airport thought I was crazy with my face a hot mess. I found my flight and yes again... there was no one at security so it was a total breeze. The flight to ATL was easy but when I got to the airport there, the plane was late, they changed where we were supposed to board, I was starving (it was almost 11pm est). I got out my larabar, banana, and apple and had myself a picnic at the loading gate. I got in RDU at around 1230 and got to Daniel's gmas at around 1245.
I was totally emotional all of Saturday. It was like water works on and off all day long. I feel a bit more put together today, but I have been researching for the next flight. Im so excited to go back for Rosalie's birthday!!!!!! I really can't believe she is almost 1!
