Cat and mouse

Just when I thought things were winding down this week, there was a turn of events. I had been very busy at work this past week and all I wanted to do was take a nap. I love.... I mean LOVE my naps! I laid down on the couch to snooze for a couple hours. (I like snuggling with 8 piece on the couch and he is not allowed in the bedroom) Anyways... Daniel got home at around 8 that night and went to turn on the lamp and it would not turn on. The lamp is on a timer and he thought the timer was broken. He then asked if I had broken it. Of course I had not. I was sleeping. Come to find out, one of the boys decided/learned to unplug things from the wall. hmmmmm.... very interesting. Time went on and the boys would not leave the area where the lamp was. There is a dvd shelf right by the lamp. This got me thinking... what could possibly be SO interesting?
I got out my phone which has a flashlight on it and pointed it behind the dvd shelf. Well... go figure. There was a tiny mouse behind the shelf. I told Daniel who then went to get one of the fireplace tools to poke the mouse out. I got Country Biscuit (he is the best guard kitty) and held him while Daniel poked the mouse out. Out ran the mouse and Country Biscuit was after him. We didn't know where the mouse went but it did not take Country Biscuit but 30 seconds to hunt him down and rule himself winner at the game of catch. I of course did not want him to actually EAT the thing so I went after him and praised him. He tried to get away from me but Daniel and I got him in the hallway. The mouse was still living but was severely "broken". Daniel asked me to take some photos and then took the mouse outside. I think Country Biscuit was a bit upset that his new friend was given the boot. So....
I gave him and the other two kids wet food. (and of course praised him)

You see... Daniel so wanted Country Biscuit to look at the camera... He was thinking.... heck no.. my new toy is going to get taken from me. Can't fool a smart cat!
