Lets see... June has just slipped away from me. So many things have happened in such a short amount of time.
1. I have visited Charlotte twice to tend to my Father and his double hip replacement (and steal blueberries and tomatoes from the garden.) He is doing great and now only using a cane.
2. Celebrated Alex's birthday by splurging on an enormous cupcake and other goodies from Whole Foods, and went to IHOP.
3. Spent most of one week helping Alex, Ron, and Rosalie pack up and move to AZ. I painted, cleaned, organized, watched Rosalie, brought food over, packed, and just tried to make the transition for them easier.
4. Went to the pool a few times with Alex and Rosalie. Rosalie is SUCH a water baby! (and a super cutie in her little swim suits!)
5. Found out after doing 100 pushups, that in fact, I could. I was counting but did not put 2 and 2 together until later in the day. It was 6am after all. My brain wasn't working 100% yet. I had this as a personal goal at the beginning of the year but then busted up my elbow and wrist in that nasty fall while training for the first marathon. I still get nerve pain every now and again (when I decide to sleep on my arm)
6. Decided that I could use advise from other practitioners and was told by my general physician that their Endocrinologist did not see a point in seeing me. (Cop out!) So I put it upon myself to make an apt with a holistic nutritionist, and another specialist. Both cant see me for weeks/over a month. So I must practice patience. I figured it couldn't hurt to get another opinion right?
7. I did in fact win this trip through work to go to the Bahamas. My mom is my +1 since Daniel has only 2 extra days off work.
8. I have started my summer reading list. Currently I am reading Sugar Shock. I also have a book called Bloom that I am waiting on, along with Good Calories, Bad Calories, It Starts with Food, and a couple others. Can you tell I am into this whole food thing? The science behind food has really become very interesting to me.
9. Went to the dentist... Still cavity free!
10. Bought a plane ticket to visit Alex, Rosalie, and Ron. I'm going in August! Only 64 more days... but who is counting?
