arch enemy

I would have to say few things bring me to my knees and make me loose all control. I try to keep all of those temptations out of the house. I talk of ice cream. I am a big pig when it comes to ice cream and will eat a whole carton in less than a week and If i could I would eat a whole carton in a day. (I don't because I would totally feel guilty) Well last week the grocery had ice cream for 88 cents. I haven't had any in my house in I cant tell you how long. I bought 3. I'm already down to 2. I normally get yogurt and freeze it and there is my "frozen yogurt". Its is portion control ed and when its gone, its gone. Today I got the brilliant idea that since I ran so long, I could eat all the ice cream that I wanted. So I did. It was wonderful and I don't feel that guilty. Although I am trying really had starting tomorrow til race day to eat more clean. Fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains, etc. I have found that Aldi has become my friend in this quest. They have some fruit and veggies for super super cheap. So It looks like good old ht will be on the back burner for a bit. (unless they have awesome sales)

struggle

Well... I guess you can call this week my "recovery week". I just havnt been able to put 100% into my workouts and just life in general. I havnt been sleeping but about 6 hours each night. I cant go to bed and I cant stay asleep. This was never really a problem at all. Well today I had to get up at 6am and didnt want to. GO FIGURE! We had a garage sale and then afterwards I was to run 16 miles. Well... that didnt happen at all. Alex emailed me and said she wasnt going to make it and then I did about 4 miles but couldnt even keep a decent pace. I just felt so lethargic. I went to the gym thinking I would get motivated... didnt happen and then went back home for a 4 hour nap! Yes 4 hours! I guess the whole week caught up with me.
I would also like to contribute my exhaustion and lack of sleep to my new job situation. Its not a bad one at all. I love my job. I guess you can say I was just taken by surprise and have had to have my ears open and mind on at all times. I was supposed to go and rove this week to 3 communities but at the last minute I was asked to take charge in a neighborhood. So I have been with Tracy all week listening to everything she has to say about marketing, comps, ideas, etc. So starting this coming week I will have my own community called Old Towne Village... in case anyone knows of someone who wants a house in 27040 zip.
Anyways... tomorrow is a new day. It will start with swimming for an hour followed by a nice long run. :)

I did it!

I did it. I finished 20 miles. Me and Britney along with Mary and Val for a little bit. (britney being britney spears) Mary joined me for about mile 4-8.5 and Val came at the very end. I only got one tiny blister between my big toe and my second big toe. I really do not feel so bad at all. My legs are a bit achy but my knees feel great. Amost like I could run some more but I wont... not today. After I finished I had to get ready for giving the keys away to the rental house. Daniel met me out at the house to finish up. We were both a bit rushed and I was kind of on edge because a. I was starving and b. I was tierd. We went to go meet Daniel's mom, grandma, aunt, brother, and sister in law at golden corral. I stuffed myself full of food. I was so miserable afterwards that I had to put my seat back on the ride home. We spent some time at home and Tony and Charity introduced a new game to us. It was pretty cool. Daniel's mom got the cats some valentines stuff. Of course they loved it after everyone left. Some other pretty exciting things happened today but Ill wait for another day to talk about that.

Tough day

So today started out at 445am... thats right. You read correctly. I got almost no sleep because it snowed last night and I was concered about driving in it this morning. I did make it from my house to the gym with no problems and met the girls there for our practice triathlon. Today we did a 1000 warmup, then a 500 for time then ran to the spin bike room to spin 4 miles and then run from there to the treadmill for a 1 mile run. My first round, I wanted to see what my time was for the 500 and took it a bit slow so for my second round I wanted to bump it up. We started out on the second round and I had to stop after the first 25, then had to bag it after the first 50. My ear was throbbing. The bottom of my ear got cut from who knows what and it felt like a razor blade was detaching my ear from my head. Needless to say, I was disapointed. We then went for a 30 minute bike ride where Mary took control. She even made a nice picture of what the ride would look like if we were outside. It had colors and everything. So cute!!
I had to split pretty fast to get ready for work and then to get to Target and Panera for breakfast. I was only a few minutes behind everyone. We had such a good time at breakfast. We had the whole place staring at us becuase we were laughing so hard.
I had to get to work and go to the blue house to finish up some stuff there. Tomorrow we are handing over the keys to another family. I have a bit more to do there tomorrow but not too much. Just the washing of the kitchen floor and bathroom floors and tidying up.
On a side note... 8 piece likes peanut butter and country biscuit ate some of my apple. Why does that not surprise me? He likes all fruits and veggies.... what a weird cat.
Tomorrow I also have to wake up early and I have the pleasure of running 20 miles on the treadmill. I know I can do it. I just know I can... Positive thinking and determination will get me through it. I have alotted time for it and for a small break inbetween if needed. the treadmill may need the break more than me. :)

Its called SHARING!

Ok.. so lets face it.. some people dont know how to share and today was no exception. Lets just say that I was a little p.o-ed at the pool this evening. I had had a long day, did spin in the morning then work then the big boss men came at 5pm right when i was leaving! Of course. So I had to drive in the dark and the rain. YEAH MY FAV...NOT! O well you win some you loose some. Ok so on to the whole not sharing and stuff.... I got to the pool late due to the boss men coming and when I got there finally I went to go talk to this gal who also just got there like 2 seconds before me. She hopped in the pool.. I was putting on my cap, etc and when she got to my side I asked if we could share a lane. She said NO! I was like well... normally people circle swim or just split the lane. She said no that she would hit me or the lane line or the wall. I said I didnt care if she hit me. She still said no so then Alex was like just come share a lane with me and Adam. So here we go with 3 people in a lane and one in the other... so frustrating. We made it work but Alex put her 2 cents in and also explained pool "rules". So anyways she left after another lady asked to share the lane with her and not but 10 minutes later here comes the GM and a trainer to talk to us... o great! Like I didnt beat anyone up! I was not rude, I was super super super nice and when she said no 3 times I just gave up. I never went against her word by jumping in her lane like she told the trainer that i did! Geeze louise! I called my mom and told her about it and she isnt even a big swimmer and still was like what a horrible person for not sharing. Anyways, maybe just maybe that next time she will actually share a lane.
I guess the thing that got me the most was that she said that one of the trainers taught her how to swim recently but never gave her any pool rules to live by. Its almost like going to drivers ed and them just throwing you in a car and not teaching you to yeild or stop on red, etc.
Anyways.... tomorrow its is up in the air if Im going to run my 20 miles or not... a lot is determining that... mostly the weather.

Sometimes you win sometimes you loose...

So yesterday was a success. Daniel and I went to work and then afterwards went to Alex and Ron's for a dinner party. We had so much fun!! There was so much food I dont know where to start. We stayed pretty late and it caught up with me this morning when the alarm went off... Me: what? What day is it? Why am I getting up again? UGGGG..... Insert Country Biscuit now meowing at the door since he heard the alarm... (happens everyday) So I got up and got my morning started. Later in the day I made my way to the gym. My origional plan was to run outside. And I was going to do a half marathon but I read my schedule wrong and I only had to do a 15k!!! Whoop whooop! (9.3 miles instead of 13.1) The reason I was so happy was because due to this winter weather which I now officially hate, I had to run inside so I wouldnt break my leg outside from the snow and ice. So I got to the gym, found a treadmill and got started. I did my normal warm up on the treadmill so I wouldnt get shinsplints and I had to wrap my hair up in my princess Leah bun (only one on the back of my head) so my hair wouldnt get in the way. I started out and did not stop once for food or drink... I just kept running and ate and drank while I was on the treadmill... I think most people were thinking "why is she eatting while exercising?" Well of course I have to keep my stamina up! Running on the treadmill in place forever takes mental determination and hardwork. The only thing that went wrong was that my emergency brake came off so I had to stop for a second and get "rebooted". I finished on time and then went to do weights for my back... didnt happen so I called it a day. After the gym I did a few other things and then came home and now the super bowl is on .... o good game....

WHY??

Good Grief! I am really being a grownup and I am super upset about this winter weather! It was nice the first time in December, even last weekend was kind of ok, but this weekend is totally putting a damper on my schedule. If I dont go to work today then I have to be there on Sunday. On top of that I have more running to do. All the trees are weighed down here and we got about 2-3 inches of snow. Its days like today I wish I lived in the islands. I cant imagine all of those adults who have had thier children out of school every day but yesterday. I guess I can be thankful for not having to find a babysitter. The cats are pretty much self sufficient. Except Country Biscuit decided earlier this week that he wanted to eat a grapefruit while we were sleeping. So he decided that he was going to eat through the bag and then thew up everywhere! GROSS! So two mornings in a row I woke up to cat barf on the carpet of course....errrrr.
Well the biscuits and cookies are done... yes cookies before 9am. :)

no title good enough

I have no title for today's post. It is only halfway through the day and a lot has happened. Lets see, since I was last on, I did make it out of my driveway yesterday to get to work and the gym. It only took a good wacking of the ice with my ice scraper to get me out along with some back and forth of the car. Went to the gym in the morning to get 5 miles in and then back at night to do a spin class. Thankfully Mary saved me a bike because it always seems that I just have the hardest time leaving on time on Tuesdays. Phew! The class was packed last night and it was good. Mary and Pam were singing almost the whole time and it made it really fun. I think if I knew more of the words I would have joined in. Anyways, I got home to the surprise of Daniel making a fire and getting the house nice and toasty warm. Got up this morning and headed back to the gym. Im trying to focus my efforts on happy and postive things today. It has been tough to say the least. With it being Alethia's birthday and Daniel's Grand dad's birthday both today and with both of them not here to celebrate, it makes it tough... especially knowing that Alethia's first birthday is today. Anyways, focusing my efforts on workingout and different distractions, I met Alex for spin at 9-1020 then some weights til 1120 then a 3 mile run. I went out afterwards to the grocery stores to see what was going on and what was free this week... not much of anything. I then went to target to get a carbon monoxide detector for the rental homes (its law now) and good golly they were so darn expensive, Im going to walmart! Im off in a few to get to the blue house to meet the new renters there and finish up odds and ends.
Fingers crossed it wont snow anymore here! I need an outdoor run!
