Cant wait!

I cant wait to sleep in past 615 tomorrow! Im so excited! Today I went on a run with Val for I would guess maybe 4.5 miles. It was such a beautiful morning out. When I got home I opened up the front door and let some cool air in. (there was a screan for the cats to stay in) Anyways long day at work and I cant wait to maybe take a short nap tonight. I just have been sleep deprived out of my own doing from getting up early the past 3-4 days. I just cant wait because on tuesday Alex and I are going to lay out at the pool!! Talk about a vacation close to home! I cant wait!!

A great trip this morning

So HT had thier tripple coupon thing starting this morning and I got pretty much all that I wanted. In our house we go through mustard like its water so I picked up plenty of those, along with pretzels, eggo waffles, icecream, cookies, deo, shave cream, soap, and some other stuff. I did a total of 5 orders of 20 items each time. I left my reciepts at home so I will have to total everything up but I did not spend more than 20 bucks total... o yeah and 8 things of babywipes too! Some stuff I got for the stockpile sale but a lot of it I got for myself. It seems that we are running low on quite a few things in the house. ( like soap and snacks) It wasnt the best tripples trip ever as far as saving money goes but it was totally worth it... I would give a guess to say that I saved about 200 bucks or more. YEAH COUPONS!

HT tripples

So.. as it always goes I found out about Harris Teeter doing tripple coupons early. So of course I got my act together this afternoon considering it was cloudy and rainy outside.. not a good day to lay out. Anyways, I spent a lot of time doing the coupons at my house and later tonight im going to Vals to finish up. We are of course very excited at all the free and almost free stuff we are going to get!! Country Biscuit helped me organize and be the body guard to my coupons this afternoon. He did a very good job and is wiped out! Not much else today.. yesterday I ran with Val about 5 miles and then 2.5 with alex and ellen plus lower body and ab workout... what a day! Tomorrow is bright and early swim practice and then HT for me!!

Excited!!

So.. Im sure some people would think this is lame but earlier in the week we were told we have to work on Monday even though our handbook says otherwise... whatever.. so I have been sulking all week over this basically because I had made plans to go to the pool and enjoy the weather. Well... I asked my boss today really nicely and he said we can have off now!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it may have something to do with me selling 5 homes in May. Who knows!

Forever

I feel like it has been forever since I posted something but I have just been very busy. 3 morning practices in a row makes for a tierd girl. Then on Saturday I ran from my house to Vals and picked her up and we ran together for 2 miles and then I ran back to my house totaling 6 miles. I knew I had to get my cardio in since I was sure to go to the Golden Corall later that day. I drove to durham to attend a funeral and then stuffed my body with the usual of mashed potatos, green beans, and red meat. Then of course I finished off with some super wonderful chocolate desert and vanilla icecream! mmmm. We (Grandma and me ) drove together down to Pitsboro for the memorial service where we met up again with Roni and Stephen. The memorial was very educational (thanks Stephen) and was filled with great memories and facts of Alexander Squire. (Grandfathter) I ended up taking a quick power nap on the drive back to durham and it was much needed.
Last night I had to get all my coupons together because CVS is having an amazing sale!
I got all of these things for free... 10 power bars, 2 sunscreans, tampons, 2 deo, toothpaste, nail polish, facewash, 4 makeup things, 2 band-aids. I feel like there was more but I cant remember. The power of coupons is a good thing! So run out to your local CVS for some amazing deals... some of them only last til tomorrow! Also walgreens has some calcium supliments for free (after register rewards) so if you need some.. go get it! Im sure it wont be on the shelf for long.
After my adventure out on the town early in the morning Alex and I ran 4 miles and built our base for our chicken coop... pictures to come!

Must have been tierd

Man, I couldnt believe the time when I was woken up by Country Biscuit's meow from behind the door this morning. I had slept for 10 and a half hours! I must have just been exhausted and he wanted food. Yesterday was not super busy by any means. I went strawberry picking again with Val and the kids and went and did weights and intervals with Alex. It was the first time we did intervals and to say we need to practice on them is an understatement. O well, there is always some thing to improve on in the fitness catagory. Also yesterday I was busy cutting out some of my coupons because rumer has it that HT will have tripples in a week! Next wednesday is what people are saying on the interent. So start clipping!

Surprise!!

So today Daniel and I traveled to Charlotte to surprise my grandfather at his 80th birthday party. The day didnt start off asI had planned. I wanted to go and bike outside for an hour and then go running about 4 miles but that didnt happen because of the weather! It rained just about the whole day. Alex and I have had experience with running in the rain, (18 miles in 40 degree weather) so we really did not want to experience that again. To say that that run was draining is an understatement. So instead I went out on the town and got all the good deals... I went to Lowes, HT, CVS, and Walgreens. I would have to say that I was super disapointed in CVS because they were out of the deo deal and I was there at like 730am! Anyways, it was a fun trip.

I have been so wiped out the past few days because of getting up earlier than the sun and staying up late and just being super busy that I took a nice nap this evening. What a pleasure! Right now we are watching Survivor season finale! Im very excited!

Happy and Sad News

Well to start off, this morning Val and I had our yardsale. (huge success) We even had people giving thier email address so we can inform them of the next sale. I would be lying if I said everyone that came was excited but thats not the case. Some people came and just left because they were looking for some specific thing like sewing machines and paintings and stuff like that. This yard sale we sell quite the opposite. (Shampoo, Toothpaste, Cleaning products, etc). I had to leave early and Caitlyn filled in for me for the last hour.
On a much much sadder note, Daniel called me today and informed me that Mr Squire passed away. (our grandfather) We both knew he was not doing well but it kind of surprised me as to how quick something like this can happen. My thoughts and prayers are focused on everyone as it is a very difficult afternoon.

Graduation

So yesterday was my younger sister's college graduation. Thank goodness I went to the smaller one because I wasn't able to go to the bigger one due to work. It was a very busy day at work with another contract and tying up odds and ends for people who closed on their home today. The past two weeks at work have been so busy with 5 contracts on homes! I am so happy that everything has picked up. After graduation I still hadn't had lunch and it was 430 so we went to some local cheesecake place and ate plenty of sweets. Then it was weights at the gym and off to the local Home Depot for a gardening class which ended up being a landscaping class.

I am really excited about tomorrow. Val and I are doing a yard sale at my house and between the past two sales that we have had, we have definitly started making it a regular thing to do. We even have an email list going on for the sale!

For anyone who wants to go to HT this week, kraft bbq sauce is buy 2 get 3 free and then a coupon prints out after you purchase for your next purchase. The coupon is 2.50 dollars off! What a steal!

strawberry picking

So today was not totally uneventful. I went strawberry picking with Valerie and the kids she takes care of. It was easier this year compared to last year when some lady told the kids it was OK to eat the strawberries right there... What kind of manners are people trying to teach? Anyways this year we ended up with a lot of strawberries and I'm so excited about it! Also, Daniel's mom and grandma came into town and we went out to lunch at the farmers market and overstuffed ourselves with biscuits and a good home cooked meal.

Here are some pics of Val and the kids at the farm.

JACKPOT!!

So... this morning I woke up at 630 and heard it was raining outside and was very disapointed because I wanted to get some outside work done today. So I finally got up at 720 and started the day. The outside stuff I wanted to do was to go through the big pile of wood and stuff that the previous owners left us. Anyways, it rained for most of the day and I almost gave up on it but after weights at the gym and running around town for the day I did come home and it was still light out for me to go out. The only problem was that it was super muddy. Well... I decided to put plastic bags on the outside of my shoes, got a long shirt on because of possible poison ivy and went out to get the job done. Well... little did I know that I totally hit the jackpot outside. I am not sure what all the wood was for that was left but there was a TON of it. Of course the previous people were not very helpful. They had a lot of wood out there but covered it up with a huge tree that was cut up into pieces. So I think I might have moved a whole tree by myself with all the wood that was on it. The wood that I got out just kept coming! I was over joyed at it because I already calculated the cost of lumber at Lowes and it would have cost me at least 30 bucks for all the wood I found. They are mostly 2x4x92. Some are a little smaller. I also drug a huge pallet of wood down the backyard and over to the garden bed where my veggies are going to be placed. We are going to use that pallet to keep the deer out of my veggies. So I am totally wiped out for the night but not too wiped out to go strawberry picking tomorrow!!! The only thing that might possibly be better than strawberry picking is blueberry picking! I cant wait til July!
*** Money saving tip... Khols is having a good clearance sale. If you sign up for thier emails you should get a 5 dollar off coupon.. today I got free clothes!
***lowes foods til tomorrow you can get free spicy brown mustard with the coupon from this sundays paper. :)

So you know what Im talking about

Here are some pictures so you know who or what I am talking about in future posts. Daniel is with the camel and my cats Country Biscuit, Sweet Tea, and 8 Piece. ( 8 Piece has the white on his nose.)

Ideas for consideration

This year especially I have set some strange goals that I want to accomplish. Some were small such as not chewing gum most days and some were big such as running a marathon. (I did accomplish that task last week). Others were saving more money, but the strangest one by far is to build a chicken coop and start raising chickens for fresh eggs. My friend Alex and I share some of the same goals for the year and we are putting our heads together to build a chicken coop. We wanted to get one that had either been used or someone built, but they are just so expensive. So after hours and hours of research I have found a few different plans that I think would work for our little house. Of course with me trying to save even more money this year I am being creative with how we get our materials. This past week I went dumpster diving for free wood at a job site. Dont worry, I did get permission and did not hurt myself. Last night I was walking my property and found some old wood boards that the previous owners left in a pile of mess. So between all of that and my trip i will take to the habitat restore, our costs will be very minimal with the new coop. So with all of these great ideas for consideration, I will be posting my findings and events of my goals for this year plus any other exciting news to share. Enjoy!
